Gary Nutter, a member of First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, recently was elected to the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas Board of Directors. The Foundation manages $164 million in endowment funds and other charitable assets that benefit local churches and United Methodist ministries.
“A major key to our success at creating endowments to benefit United Methodist ministries in Arkansas is an active, engaged board of directors,” said The Honorable Beth Deere, UMFA Board Chair. “Members like Gary provide leadership that strengthens our United Methodist connection.”
Gary has been an attorney in private practice since 1971 with Dunn, Nutter & Morgan, LLP, of Texarkana. He graduated from Hendrix College and the University Of Arkansas School of Law at Fayetteville. At First UMC, Texarkana, he has served as Administrative Board Chair, Chair of the Staff Parish Relations Committee, and currently is a Church Trustee. Gary and his wife Jeanie have two sons and three grandchildren.
UMFA is one of the largest United Methodist Foundations in the country. Founded in 1963, the Foundation is responsible for over 800 funds that support United Methodist ministries.
