In 2020, MFA continued to make a dramatic impact on the Methodist Church in Arkansas. Over $1.6 million in grants were made at the discretion of the Foundation’s Board of Directors to high-priority areas including leadership development, human welfare, clergy financial education, and Conference institutions.

Marleigh Hayes from Fayetteville has been named the 2021 Nancy M. Wood Scholarship winner and will enroll this fall at Hendrix College with the $6,000 scholarship grant. She feels called to study toward her goal of attending seminary.

Cindy has been selected as a Methodist Foundation Deacon Seminary Scholar for the 2021-2022 school year. As with the elder scholars, students demonstrating exceptional promise attending one of the 13 accredited United Methodist seminaries may be selected by The Foundation to receive annual scholarships. Scholarship recipients are required to sign a covenant agreement committing to serve as a deacon under appointment in Arkansas for two years for each year of scholarship support received.
