Join the Methodist Foundation for Arkansas for our webinar- "IRAs, RMDs, and QCDs - Oh, My! The Ins and Outs of Giving Generously Through a Traditional IRA," recorded on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 10 am CST.
Part of our job is helping people understand the tax laws in ways that might benefit their local church, a Methodist institution, or the overall work of the Foundation. A permanent tax law enacted in late December of 2015 allows donors and friends to revisit their IRAs and consider donating “qualified charitable distributions” directly from their IRA to a non-profit. This would include their local church, a Methodist institution, and the Foundation. Making a gift to the Foundation could be done in a way that gifts are directed to benefit local churches, institutions, or the Foundation.

The Foundation hosted its fifth annual Investment Forum and lunch on May 8, 2024, in the Lusk Training Center of our Little Rock offices. In 2023, MFA continued to make a dramatic impact on the Methodist Church in Arkansas- over $1.5 million in grant funds were distributed among 109 awardees at the discretion of the Foundation’s Board of Directors Grant Committee.
