2026 Clergy International Study Cohort Application

Taizé, France
International Study Cohort
April 13-22, 2026

Before applying, prayerfully consider whether five days in the Taizé community will be best for you personally, professionally, and spiritually. Life at Taizé is very simple, including meals. In the five days, we will attend nine worship services and participate in a Bible study with one of the brothers. While we will lodge in Cluny (a 15-minute drive to Taizé), we will spend up to 12 hours each day at Taizé. Other than the worship services, two meals, and Bible study, there will be a significant amount of time for reflection. Participants need to be comfortable with a lot of free time.

The selected participants will be given pre-trip assignments (readings and written work) and will work in small groups to provide a devotional while on the trip. As a follow-up, each participant will provide the Foundation with a written evaluation of their experience and its effect on their preaching skills.

Additionally, participants will be required to attend three pre-trip meetings (January 9, February 6, March 6) at the Foundation’s office in Little Rock from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with lunch provided.

Other information:

  • The Cohort will be limited to 15 participants.
  • Prior Foundation International Cohort participants may apply, but priority will be given to candidates who have not participated in an international cohort.
  • The Cohort is open to those who are appointed to preach on a regular basis.
  • Each participant is expected to contribute $1,000 to the cost of the Cohort.
  • Most meals will be included, but some of the Paris meals, including dinner, will be on your own.
  • The trip is for clergy only (deacon, elder, local pastor)—no guests.
  • All participants will have a single room.
  • Breakfast will be at the hotel, which is approximately a 15-minute drive from Taizé.
  • If participants choose to leave from an airport other than Little Rock, Educational Opportunities (EO) will arrange the flights and participants will be responsible for any increase in cost. Participants not flying out of Little Rock will also be responsible for any additional cost and working directly with EO and/or the airline if they are not able to make the connecting flight to Paris. If participants are delayed getting to Paris and the group has already left, they will be responsible for arranging and paying for transportation from the Paris airport to Taizé.
  • Participants may work directly with EO to make arrangements to stay longer in Paris and/or pay to upgrade flight seats at their own expense.

To apply for the Taizé International Study Cohort, respond to the questions in the form linked below by June 2, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. CDT. Participants will be notified of their selection by June 16, 2025.

The application due date for the Taizé journey has passed and no further applicants will be considered.
