Financial Literacy for Clergy

For two days in September, United Methodist clergy — elders, deacons, and full- and part-time local pastors — and their spouses are invited to work through this financial well-being material to gain skills that will help them master money and experience grace in this area of life, and also to return to their congregations and share this training with their communities.
Saving Grace: Financial Literacy for Clergy will be held at the Methodist Foundation for Arkansas’ Little Rock office (601 Wellington Village Road) on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, starting at 3 p.m. and concluding the following day, Wednesday, September 24 at 2 p.m.
The Saving Grace curriculum encourages reflection on the complex relationship between money and faith, spending time in Scripture and examining the related teachings of theologians like John Wesley.
The Revs. Justin and Susan Ledbetter, facilitators of this workshop, will help ensure participants can count on conversations around personal budgets, debt management, and saving and spending habits to be easily applicable. Participants will see how this material can be adapted for short-term small group study in their own ministry context.
For each participant, the Methodist Foundation for Arkansas will cover the cost of course materials, lodging for one night, one dinner, and one lunch. When the Foundation receives your website registration, a staff member will contact you about further arrangements for your visit.
